Luigi's love for wine and food can be credited to his parents Lauretta and Franco Coccaro who have always given him encouragement to try and experience new opportunities. Upon graduating from the University of Alberta with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 2004 Luigi has been in charge of La Bussola's Wine and Beverage program.
Luigi continued his studies in wine education, becoming a certified Sommelier June of 2010 by the Court of Masters Sommelier Guild, as well as currently completing his Diploma in the Wine and Spirit Education Fund (WEST) at the same time as completing a Bachelor of Management program at the University of British Columbia Okanagan.
This combination of family experience and education have enabled him to create a wine list that has won both domestic and international awards, showing a strong cultural influence of Okanagan wines and Italian wines, at the same time demonstrating a breadth of wines from around the globe.
